Bend, fold, stretch. "Suzugami" is a tin vessel that can be freely shaped.
Shouryu is a new brand created by one of ten remaining craftsmen in entire Japan capable of making Buddhist Orin bells. The modern Suzugami plates and bowls are made of tin, which are hammered to be malleable so that constantly be reshaped. Suzugami series are sought out by notable Nobu, Narisawa restautants among others.
The Tsuiki Suzugami series uses the hammering (tsuiki) technique to make tin into the shape of a vessel. The largest 24x24 is a size that can be used for serving pasta and salad with sauce, and for a large number of people to share dishes.
You can store it compactly by rolling both ends into a cocoon shape. In addition, because it is made by hammering, it returns to its original shape even when it is unfolded.
